Vitelity Voice Service Options

We are a Vitelity wholesale partner and we offer their high-quality and very affordable voice services.

There are only a few settings that we can adjust at the provider, but they are important. Here's a summary:

Routing Method

:!: Per-DID

We normally route incoming calls to IP endpoints. However, we can also create a registration account and route calls to the registration account.

Routing via IP endpoints has some advantages:

  • More Secure
    • Calling is limited to a single IP address
    • Easily secured by firewall
  • More Reliable
    • No registration issues
  • Possible to manipulate outbound CallerID
    • Specify CID per-extension, per-route or per-trunk
    • With the registration routing method, CID can only be specified at the Vitelity Sub-Account level

Route to Account

:!: Per-DID

'Account' might be a registration account or an IP endpoint.

Failover

:!: Per-DID

This is a setting that we almost always configure. If your PBX becomes unavailable for any reason, calls will be forwarded to the failover number. Most folks use their mobile phone number as their failover number.

We strongly suggest configuring the failover for ALL DIDs. All we need to implement this are key-value pairs: a DID and the number it should fail over to.

Call Forwarding

:!: Per-DID

We can forward any DID to most any phone number.

Server Fail

:!: Per-IP Endpoint or Registration Account

Each IP endpoint or registration account can have a 'failover server' in case the primary PBX is offline for any reason.

If the primary account/endpoint is offline, calls are routed to the failover account/endpoint. Subsequent calls are still routed to the primary account/endpoint.

This would commonly be used in a dual-WAN scenario.

Caller ID Name (LIDB) Database

Outbound Caller ID with Name allows you set the name people see on their caller ID when you make outbound calls. There is a one-time charge of $10 for each DID number that is published to the national CNAM (aka LIDB) database.

To set up your outbound caller ID (CNAM), please follow the steps below.

  1. Log into the user portal (portal.vitelity.net)
  2. Go to the “Buy Now” menu on the left side of the screen
  3. Choose “ Add-Ons”
  4. Choose “Cnam/LIDB services”
  5. Enter the Vitelity numbers you would like to set up with the CNAM
  6. Choose “Submit”
  7. Fill out “Cnam service” form
  8. Choose “Submit”
  9. Confirm information is correct, than choose “I agree”

The purchased CNAM will be displayed as long as the number you have set as the outbound number matches the number you purchased the CNAM value on.

You will be able to select up to 15 alphanumeric characters (including spaces).

It will take approximately 7-10 business days for the carrier to update the database.
