When migrating from older analog telephone service to newer VoIP service, there are various issues to consider before canceling your old account.
Do not cancel your old phone service until all your important phone numbers have been completely ported from your old service provider to the new digital service.
You might permanently lose important phone numbers (DIDs) if the old service gets cancelled before the ports complete.
