MailTo links are a convenience feature allowing you to click on a link and have your default mail client open in 'compose mode' with the addressee (and sometimes the subject) already filled in for you.

This subject is a bit more complicated when using a browser-based mail client like Zimbra, Yahoo Mail or Gmail.

If you use the popular Firefox web browser, you can use this method to make MailTo links work well.

1. Add the MailtoWebmails add-on to your Firefox
   1. Per user (not system-wide)
   2. https://addons.mozilla.org/en-us/firefox/addon/mailtowebmails/
2. Use the about:mailto URL to add and activate the Zimbra service
   1. Enter only about:mailto in the URL field and press the enter key
   2. Click Discover near the top of the page
   3. Scroll down to Zimbra
   4. Click Install
   5. Click Inactive (Set as Active)
   6. Click the Firefox back button to go back to the main about:mailto page
3. Edit the activated Zimbra entry for your Zimbra service
   1. Click the Edit button (pencil icon) for the Zimbra service
   2. Change zimbra.free.fr to your Zimbra server hostname
      1. zimbra.virtualarchitects.com if you are on our service
   3. Click Save (floppy disk icon)
