Controlled from the 2X Remote Application Server Console on the 2X RAS server this will force the Windows PC from XP to Windows 8 to boot up and use only the 2X Client. This can extend the life of older Windows PCs.

Make note of the “Admin Mode Password” in RAS console when activating this feature. You can expose the password in the RAS Console by right clicking the managed device → Properties -OS Settings → Show Password.

1. Install 2X Client on the PC
2. Login to RAS on PC
3. On RAS Console → Client Manager → right click PC → Manage
4. On PC log out then back in
5. Right click PC in RAS Console → Client Manager → Properties → OS Settings → Un-tick Use Group Policy → Tick Replace Desktop
6. Change or make note of Admin Mode Password
7. Click OK → Apply
8. PC will force reboot in 60 seconds

The PC will boot up in this limited mode even if 2X RAS is not available. To go back to standard boot up reverse process in RAS Cosole.

1. Right click 2X Icon in System Tray
2. Select Switch to Admin mode
3. Use password set in RAS Console
4. In 2X RDP client click File → Add new application
5. Name with Alias → browse to executable → input command arguments if any → OK
6. The application will show in 2X Client window with other apps
7. To go back to user mode right click Icon and select Switch to User Mode
