Backup Administration - Ahsay OBM
The Ahsay OBM backup client is Ahsay's full featured client with many advanced features.
If you need a simple backup client for file backups, please check out the Ahsay ACB backup client.
We generally use a multi-level backup plan. We like to have a 'local copy' or
Level 1 backup in addition to the online (off-site) backup. The L1 backup will be used for much faster restore operations, in the event of a disaster.
The Ahsay OBM backup client software will perform both the
Level 1 local-copy backup as well as the Level 2 online, off-site backups. Alternately, you can implement only L1 or only L2 or you can create separate backup jobs for each scheduled at different times and backing up different content.
Backup
Generally, you will at least need to define:
- Backup job name
- Source data to be backed up
- Backup schedule (if recurring)
- L1, L2 or both destinations (local copy, online or both)
- Retention policy (per job, how long to keep deleted files)
