WAN-Bridge is a live-CD open-source WAN-Emulation alternative that doesn't require complex routing when testing the behavior of applications and network protocols over WAN.

WAN-Bridge can run as a virtual machine or on a standard PC.

With WAN-Bridge it is easy to create fully virtualized or mixed test environments, and benefit from advanced network monitoring and charting capabilities.

WAN-Bridge Live-CD does not retain any configuration across reboots.

or (for 5Mbps bandwidth and 8ms RTT):

wanbridge set 5000 8

Choose from the default settings options or type custom.

Leave any of the custom parameters blank to remove from emulation limits. E.g. entering only a delay value will not limit bandwidth and will keep native packet-loss.

If the bridge is assigned an IP address (either through DHCP or Static configuration), you may access the network traffic probe (ntop) web interface by browsing to http://WANBRIDGE-IP.
