Sharing Files or Folders with Nextcloud

Users can create simple sharing links, using the web interface or client app, that can be sent to recipients via e-mail or other means.

It is simple to modify the share options to require a password or set an expiration date for the share to enhance security.

Browser App (Files)

Log into your VA Cloud Storage account, open the Files app and switch to the table view:

Nextcloud Files App

Click the share icon next to the file or folder you want to share, then click the '+' next to Share Link:

Create a Share Link

The file share link will be created and copied to your Windows Clipboard. You can then paste the link into an email, for example, to send larges files to anyone with an e-mail address.

Client App (Windows)

In the Windows File Manager, right-click the file or folder you want to share, then select Nextcloud → Copy Public Link.

Create and Copy the Public Link in Windows File Manager

Group Folders

Group Folders are created, maintained and managed by Group Admins.

Create a Shared Cloud Folder with Nextcloud

First create a group (if it doesn't already exist) that includes users that require access to the share you are creating.
