:!: Versioning and deduplication is not supported on local USB/ESATA backups using Backup & Replication. Install “Time Backup” add on from Package Center.

:!: Limitation of “Time Backup” is that it only backs up an entire volume/share. Not single folders.

DSM → Main Menu → Time Backup

Select Timeline (tab) to choose the right version to restore.

There is a Download option under Action to save restored data locally.

:!: You should be able to also select versions with the timeline bar (dragging) at the bottom.

:!: For help with Time Backup click the ? (help) in the upper right hand corner of the Time Backup Window/Tab.

Enable CloudStation on your Synology NAS.

  1. Go to Package Center, find Cloud Station, and then click Install.
  2. Launch Cloud Station.
  3. If you have not enabled the user home feature, you'll be prompted to do so. Click OK.
  4. You'll be redirected to the user settings page. Enable user homes and click Apply.
  5. Now go back to Cloud Station and you'll be prompted to enable it. Click Yes.
  6. Go to Privileges and specify which users will be able to use Cloud Station. Click Save.

:!: Setup QuickConnect to bypass port forward

QuickConnect

  1. Go to Control Panel > QuickConnect.
  2. Check the Enable QuickConnect box.
  3. If you do not have a Synology Account, click Log in to or register a Synology Account. Enter the required information and click OK. If you already have a Synology Account, enter your account information.
  4. Create your own QuickConnect ID in the QuickConnect ID field. Then click Apply.
  5. Your QuickConnect link information will appear. Use these links to access your Synology NAS.
  6. If you do not see the QuickConnect DSM link, click Advanced and make sure DSM is enabled.
  7. You can now use the QuickConnect DSM link to access your Synology NAS!

  2. Open DS Photo and enter credentials for Synology Diskstation (Hostname or QuickConnect, Username/Password) and login

Upload picture taken while in Photo Station app

  1. Tap 3 dots upper right → Create New Album → Name Album
  2. Tap 3 dots upper right → Upload → Take Photo → Phone camera app appears, take photo → tap check mark (bottom right) to approve, recycle to retake
  3. Tap Album below Upload to (bottom) → Tap box to left of album to upload to → Tap choose album (bottom right)
  4. Tap upload symbol (upper right) and photo will upload to Album chosen.

  2. Tap Album below Upload to (bottom) → Tap box to left of album to upload to → Tap choose album (bottom right)

  2. Open DS Photo and enter credentials for Synology Diskstation (Hostname or QuickConnect, Username/Password) and login
  3. Tap 3 dots upper right → Upload → Camera → Phone camera app appears, take photo → tap Use Photo (bottom right) to approve, retake to retake
  4. Tap Upload to (bottom) → Tap box to left of album to upload to → Tap Done (upper right)
  5. Tap upload (upper right) → Done → photo will upload to Album chosen.
  1. Tap 3 dots upper right → Upload → Photo Library → Tap picture to select → Next → Next
  2. Tap Upload to (bottom) → Tap box to left of album to upload to → Tap Done (upper right)
