Using the EPEL Repository with Centos 6
http://fedoraproject.org/wiki/EPEL
Check for version and architecture first (64-bit shown here):
rpm -Uvh http://download.fedora.redhat.com/pub/epel/6/x86_64/epel-release-6-5.noarch.rpm
Disable the repository unless specifically enabled:
vim /etc/yum.repos.d/epel.repo enabled=0
