In our experience, cloud storage services (particularly free cloud storage services) are not compatible with Remote Desktop Services…at least when multiple users are involved.
Using WebDAV to access your OwnCloud storage eliminates this problem.
As RDS is quite popular, this has been a fairly large problem for many of our customers in the past.
We are now offering OwnCloud cloud storage for personal or business use.
We have found a safe method for implementing cloud storage on RDS servers, where stored data can readily be accessed by multiple users on an RDS system. However, the data is not synchronized to (copied to) the RDS server eliminating the primary risk.
Individual users will see a mapped drive to their OwnCloud storage, just about like any other mapped drive (network share).
Simple way to map a drive in Windows:
Computer
and select Map network drive
This PC
or My Computer
Example: https://oc.virtualarchitects.com/remote.php/webdav
Reconnect at logon
to ensure that the mapping is persistent upon subsequent reboots. If you want to connect to the OwnCloud server as a different user, check Connect using different credentials.
