CloneZilla Image Utility
Restore to Smaller Hard Drive
Not supported by CloneZilla but done successfully.

Create the Too Large Image
- On PC with too large of drive, open Disk Management in Windows 10/8/7. If you are running Linux system, you can boot your computer from GParted media.
- Right click the source partition and click “Shrink Volume” and follow the wizard to shrink the partition.
- Shrink the partition to something substantially smaller than you think you need
- Reboot to CloneZilla
- Select working with images
- Create the image using Beginner
Restore to Smaller Drive
- Boot to CloneZilla with smaller drive
- Choose working with images
- Choose Advanced
- Choose Restore image
- Select image to restore
- In advanced options tick icds. This disables checking destination disk size
- Continue with the wizard leaving the default options
- After imaged on the small drive expand the partition to use entire drive
I suggest after successfully creating the smaller drive image re-save to avoid it being necessary to go through this procedure again.
