Create the Image Backup

  1. Create a new backup set
  2. Choose MS Windows System Backup
  3. Verify Include all critical volumes is selected
  4. Choose a relaxed backup schedule for DR backups:
    • One time (run after significant system changes)
    • Monthly would be reasonable
    • Weekly would be the most frequent you would want
  5. Adjust the temporary storage location:
    • Local, USB or network location
    • Must be a non-critical volume
  6. Choose on-line, Local Copy or both

Then, after backing up the image backup to the Ahsay server, you are left with the necessary files to perform the restore from the left-over temp files.

Restore the Image Backup

  1. Using the Ahsay web interface, restore the image backup to an external hard drive
    • Or just use the temporary files as discussed above
  2. Connect the external hard drive top the machine to be restored
  3. Boot the machine from the Windows installation media
  4. Choose Repair
  5. Choose Image Restore
