===== Links to Files or Folders =====

Users can create **simple sharing links**, using the web interface or client app, that **can be sent to recipients via e-mail** or other means.

<note tip>It is simple to modify the share options to require a password or set an expiration date for the share to enhance security.</note>

==== Browser App (Files) ====

**Log into your VA Cloud Storage account**, open the **Files app** and switch to the **table view**:

Click the **share** icon next to the file or folder you want to share, then click the '+' next to **Share Link**:

<note tip>The file share link will be created and copied to your Windows Clipboard.  You can then paste the link into an email, for example, to send larges files to anyone with an e-mail address.</note>

==== Client App (Windows) ====

In the **Windows File Manager**, **right-click the file or folder** you want to share, then **select Nextcloud -> Copy Public Link**.

<note tip>Group Folders are created, maintained and managed by Group Admins.</note>

==== Create a Shared Cloud Folder with Nextcloud ====

<note tip>First create a group (if it doesn't already exist) that includes users that require access to the share you are creating.</note>

  * Login to NextCloud as an **Admin**
  * Click the **user icon** upper right -> **Settings**
  * Under **Administration** on the left -> **Group Folders**
  * Enter the **folder name** -> **Create**

  * Under **Groups** on the new share line hover over none -> click the **edit** pencil
  * Click in the **Add Group** field and **select a group** from the menu -> **set permissions** if needed
  * Click on open space to **save**
